Applying to port an existing
product to a new property
Follow the steps below

1) Porting criteria –
which cases are eligible for porting?
Before you apply to port a case it’s important
to check to see if your client’s needs meet the criteria,
including:
- What types of cases are eligible for porting?
- What are the LTV limits?
- Are ERCs payable?

2) What products are available for additional borrowing during
porting applications?
If you need any further guidance on the products available for
your client’s further borrowing, call our product and policy
helpline on 0845 604 1206 who’ll be happy to
help.

3) How to apply to port a case
Applications to port a C&G mortgage must
be completed using a paper application form. The following steps
will guide you on how to submit a case to us.
Key Fact Illustration – To produce a KFI
for you and your client simply download and complete a KFI Application Form. Once
completed simply fax it to 0845 600
2875.
Decision in Principle – You can get a DIP
for your client by downloading a Mortgage Decision in Principle and
Application form*. Once completed simply fax it to
your processing team on 0845 600
2364.
Full Mortgage Application – To get a Full
Mortgage Application form to complete, you will need to download
the Mortgage Decision in Principle
and Application form*. This must then be posted to us
along with payment for any fees using the Mortgage Application Fees form. For
further help on how to complete the application form, please follow
the instructions on the download page or
call us on 0845 603 6082.
*However, if your client wants to port an
existing C&G Offset Mortgage, you'll need to
download and complete the Offset Saver
form. For further guidance call us on 0845 603

4) What fees apply and how to pay them
In addition to sending in the Full Mortgage
Application, you’ll need to complete a Mortgage Application Fees form for the
relevant fees. To check what your clients will need to pay, please
see the list below.
Application fee
A £99 application is due for all porting
applications. Please see the application fee
page for further details.
If your case involves a transfer of equity,
please call the product and policy line on 0845 604
1206.
Product Fee
Where the applicant is taking out further
borrowing, if the further borrowing rate that they apply for
carries a product fee then this will be automatically added to the
loan amount. Customers will have a period of 30 days in which to
pay the fee before it begins to attract interest. Please see the

Valuation
There will be a valuation fee payable on all
house purchases, including porting applications (both residential
and buy-to-let). Please see our valuation
fees page for further details.
To pay these fees you will need to download a
Mortgage Application Fees form.
Transfer of funds fee
£35 transfer of funds fee is applicable on all
porting applications and will be added to the loan amount.
Customers will have a period of 30 days in which to pay the fee
before it begins to attract interest. Please see the transfer of funds fee page for further
details.
Procuration fees
For all porting applications you will receive
a procuration fee, which will be based on the whole of the
borrowing – including the existing borrowing.

5) How to track your case
Your processing team will be in regular
contact with you about your porting application; however if you
wish to send us further information then you can always send us a
fax – along with the Intermediary Fax Cover
sheet – to 0845 600 2367.
